Happy Birthday Zac (4th of July too)

This morning Zac was being silly at breakfast. I laughed and said, "Zac, you're a Goofball". This is what he told me after that,"No mama, I soccerball. Get shoes on."

What in the....

OK, I put my baby to bed 45 min ago. The night light was plugged in, so I reached up and turned the light chain off, so the ceiling fan would still be on. Then, I turned off the switch. Zac can turn the switch off and on so I made sure the light wouldn't come on when he did that. I checked him and 15 min later he was sleeping.

I just heard him singing a song and thought I better check again. When I peeked in, he was standing up and the light was on! How can that happen? At first, I thought that maybe I really didn't turn it off, but I know that I did! I am really freaked out. Has this happened to anyone else, ever?

The only thing I can think off is that our wiring is messed up and it has been very stormy outside

Aaron got Zac his own water from sonic and Zac thought he was so big! He carried it around all afternoon and said "My Juice". It was so cute. I probably took 40 pictures of him in the backyard carring it around with him and playing in the dirt.

Baby Zac

Well, here goes. I said I would write about Zac and here it is. He is the sweetest baby I have ever had. He is smiling all the time, loves to play toys and will roll anything on the floor, (books, balls, cars, anything). Zac just turned 1. He is the baby I was wanting to complete my family! I love everything about him.

1. He looks like Aaron as a baby
2. Is in a good mood all the time (with 2 exceptions)
3. Loves everyone around him
4. He is fascinated with everything

The exception is that Zac has an ear piercing scream when he rides in a carseat and when he is sitting in a high chair. It really is terrible sounding!

The birthday party went great. I made cake and cupcakes and Aaron decorated the cake. It really turned out fine. All of the family was there and a few friends too.

Zac did not have a name until 7 days after he was born. We had a list, sort of. The usual names were on it again. I didn't even care if his name was Dagwood this time. I really liked the name Ryan, but it didn't go with Riley for a middle name and the name Ryan Aaron sounded funny. Zac has always been on the list, but it is very hard for us to pick one for certain. All the nurses at the hospital tried to help. They brought us several name books and we had one of our own too. Family and friends tried to help. The name lady at the hospital said we had to have a name before we left. We told her that we didn't have one yet and that we would just have to call her later. So we went home and talked about it for a week. We tried out all the names when we talked to him. Nothing sounded right. We wrote down meanings of names and still didn't know. We liked Zac, but didn't want it to be Zachary. We finally chose Zac Riley because we like Zachariah and Zaccheus, which are both hebrew. I feel like God remembered us and finally gave us another beautiful baby. A few of the names we call him sometimes are Baby Zac, Zac-e, Zac a rooni, Zaccheus and Zachariah.

The Hebrew name Zachariah means - God remembered
The Hebrew name Zaccheus means - innocent, pure
The Irish name Riley means courageous

First Haircut

Zac had his first Haircut June 18th! His hair was getting long on top and it is hot, so it would stick to his face. When the wind blows real hard, it all flies in the air. He was so good. The boys entertained and Daddy got a cut too, so Zac had someone else to watch. I held him in my arms and Sandra went around his head snipping here and there. A couple of times Zac turned and looked at what she was doing. The haircut didn't start until 7pm and he is usually in bed by then, but he did really good. He yawned a couple of times and stared a little bit too. But he really loves Sandra and she is a very lively lady.


Sandra is the only person that cuts Aaron and the boys hair. Aaron was roommates with her son Jesse, so he has been getting haircuts there since our college days. I have certificate's and photos of Sandra with all 3 of my boys for their first haircut. Zac looks super cute and he is now ready for his 1st birthday party this Saturday. We are having Bratwurst, watermelon, chips and dip, and I am going to attempt to make the cake. I have a really cool kids cookbook that has lots of great ideas. We shall see. (Stay tuned, because Aaron made the party invitations.)

My baby turned 11 months old on the 6th. I can't believe how fast time goes by. One year ago, this is what I looked like and now here he is, playing peek-a-boo (he covers his ears instead of his eyes)
