UNO in Bed

Since summer began, my boys have been playing UNO at bedtime.

The first night I got onto them and told them to get in their own beds, but later I let them play. They were going to have a sleepover, but it got too crowded and Alex was falling in between the bed and the wall, so he had to get back on the top bunk.

The second night, I told them at 9:25 they had to stop playing at 10pm and go to sleep in their own beds. It is so cute! They have been using their headlights from Christmas and hooking them onto the bed slats for light and then playing UNO quietly until they are tired.

They are the best of friends and I love to listen at their door at night. They say the funniest stuff! I love that they play so good together all the time and that they have each other.

I would always recommend having kids this close together (26 months apart). I pray that Zac has someone, like Alex and Parker have each other.

Thank you to my best friend's husband

I just want to take some time out and remember our soldiers. New and old, thank you for my freedom!

Thank you Jeremy, who is serving in Iraq right now. My family keeps you in their prayers every night! We pray for your safety, and for your wife and son who are here waiting for your return.

We have a Wii game night all ready for when you get back!

Here are a few pictures of my friend during Wii game night, a few days before he left.

Alex rides a Bike!!!

Yea for Alex! He rode a bike, (without training wheels), for the first time on the last day of school, May 22. I am so proud, and so is he. He is a pro now. I hardly had to do anything. He basically just hopped on and started riding, just like Parker.

I remember when I rode a bike for the first time. I was so scared and probably several years older. It seemed so hard to me when I did it. My boys make it look so easy! I had to get my bike out and we have been riding so much, my butt hurts. Now, Aaron has to go with them, so I can recover! It really is fun though. I would love to ride it all the time, (as long as I use a pillow under my seat), Ha Ha.

Parker rides a Bike!!

Parker rides a bike! I mean really rides a bike, with no training wheels. He took them off about 2 weeks ago with his handy tool set, but he hasn't ridden it since then. So yesterday while Alex was staying at Grandma's house, I took Parker to the school yard. He insisted on bringing his bike instead of roller blades, (which he is amazing at also, he has been roller blading since he was 2 1/2 years old). Aaron was sleeping, so it was just Zac and I. I knew for sure that he wouldn't be able to do it, because it was going to be hard with just me by myself to help him, but we brought the bike anyway.
Well I put Zac in the stroller and get out the bike. Parker hops on and balances for a while. I told him I would hold on to the back and help him ride. He tells me, "I don't need help". Then, and you are not going to believe this, He starts riding the bike! And i don't mean just a short distance. I mean all around the parking lot without falling once! He can turn and stop with the brakes and keeps going. He is only 5. When he comes back to me, He said "I didn't know I could do that." Parker was proud as a peacock. He couldn't wait to go home and tell Daddy and call Grandma and Alex. When Aaron woke up we went back to the school. Parker got on the bike and rode all around. Aaron about passed out from shock. It is amazing!Posted by Picasa

Things to enjoy

As you can see from the photo, this is how my life has been lately, Overwhelming!! Someone asked me recently what I enjoy. I have been thinking about it for a while now. Maybe, if I type it out loud, I might remember what I enjoy.
  • My children
  • Oklahoma thunderstorms
  • Zac napping
  • taking photos of my boys
  • going to the zoo
  • walking in the park
  • traveling to new places
  • watching "Crossing Jordan", "Lost", "Jericho" (cancelled boo-hoo) and my new favorite, "Eli Stone"
  • Led Zeppelin
  • Irish Folk Songs
  • SpongeBob
  • Reading mystery, romance, sci-fi, anything that is fiction books
  • Watching movies with Aaron
  • Going on a Date
  • Not cooking
  • Having a clean house
  • Gardening
  • Reading other peoples blogs
  • Folding laundry uninterrupted
I just realized that I don't get to do most of the things on this list. My goal is to do all of them at least once this year! I promise that there will be photos soon! I have so many great ones to share, but haven't been able to get them uploaded yet.
